Spanish Beyond the Classroom
At La Casita, Spanish is studied with structure and used with purpose.
Morning lessons help you develop the vocabulary, grammar and communication strategies you need. Selected workshops, shared meals and guided local experiences then give you opportunities to apply what you have learned.
La Casita remains your residential and learning base throughout the program, a peaceful place to study, practice, reflect and prepare for each experience beyond the classroom.
Your Home Base in Costa Rica
Stay in a peaceful residential learning center with comfortable study areas, an open kitchen, garden, vegetable patch and swimming pool surrounded by the rural landscape of Cartago. Private and shared rooms are available. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included from Monday through Friday.

Spanish + Volunteer Extension
Would you like to remain in Costa Rica after completing the two-week program?
Participants may request support exploring volunteer opportunities with independent Costa Rican organizations. La Casita can help identify suitable options, make initial introductions, explain the application process and coordinate the practical steps required before the placement begins.
Volunteer placements may last from several weeks to several months, depending on the organization, the type of work and the participant’s availability.
The volunteer extension is optional and separate from the two-week Spanish program. Placements are subject to availability, eligibility requirements and final approval by the host organization.
